The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency has commenced a fresh recruitment exercise for Neighbourhood Safety Officer Group B positions, offering full-time employment opportunities to qualified applicants across all parts of Lagos State.

According to the agency, the recruitment forms part of its community policing initiative aimed at strengthening safety and security at the grassroots level and improving surveillance within neighbourhoods.

A notice published on the agency’s official website described the exercise as a strategic move to deepen community engagement and enhance rapid response to security challenges at the local level.

The agency stated that applicants must meet the following conditions to be eligible:
• Possess a minimum of SSCE or WAEC qualification
• Be between 18 and 30 years of age
• Be physically fit and medically sound

Only applicants who satisfy these requirements will be considered for the recruitment process.

Governor’s Approval and Security Impact

The recruitment exercise follows the approval granted by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the engagement of additional officers into the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps.

In an earlier statement issued on 9 January through the agency’s official Facebook page, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Ifalade Oyekan, said the recruitment would strengthen the agency’s operational capacity and improve response time to security incidents within communities.

Oyekan added that the initiative aligns with the state government’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, particularly within neighbourhoods and around public schools.

Call to Eligible Youths

The agency has therefore encouraged eligible youths and residents across Lagos State, including those in Badagry and its environs, to take advantage of the recruitment exercise and contribute to community safety and crime prevention.
